In 1912, Tulane University launched the first public health school in the United States. Since then, Tulane has established a rich legacy as a leader in public health, as evidenced by the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine’s No. 12 ranking among public health schools in the U.S. Today, students across the country can access our innovative curricula and acclaimed thought leadership through our extensive suite of specialized programs, offered both online and on campus.
Exceptional, field-tested faculty members have experience in all areas of public health, providing students with a holistic perspective on various public health practices. Whether on campus in New Orleans or in their own communities across the country, our students learn by doing through field placements and hands-on experiences in public health roles. As a result, they graduate as highly desirable, experienced professionals on the front lines of public health.
We're tremendously excited to be taking our highly ranked classroom experience and making it available to working professionals who may not be able to participate in a traditional, on-ground program. Tulane University was originally launched in 1834 in response to public health threats in New Orleans. Online students will benefit from our deep history, extensive faculty research experience, and the close connection we have with alumni all over the globe.
