Learn to identify and prevent risks in the workplace with an MSPH in Industrial Hygiene.
We spend 30% of our lives at work, creating an undeniable link between the environments where we make our living and our health. Tulane University's online Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) in Industrial Hygiene will teach you to employ a scientific mindset so you can analyze, predict, and preempt potential workplace health hazards.
Unlike a typical master’s in occupational health, our MSPH blends both public health and the scientific method to help transform you into an industrial hygiene scientist. And thanks to our emphasis on experiential learning, you’ll receive one year of credit toward the experience requirement for the Certified Industrial Hygienist exam.

In 1912, Tulane University launched the first public health school in the United States. Since then, Tulane has established a rich legacy as a leader in public health, as evidenced by the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine’s No. 13 ranking among public health schools in the U.S. Today, students across the country can access our innovative curricula and acclaimed thought leadership through our extensive suite of specialized programs, offered both online and on campus.
Exceptional, field-tested faculty members have experience in all areas of public health, providing students with a holistic perspective on various public health practices. Whether on campus in New Orleans or in their own communities across the country, our students learn by doing through field placements and hands-on experiences in public health roles. As a result, they graduate as highly desirable, experienced professionals on the front lines of public health.
We’re tremendously excited to be taking our highly ranked classroom experience and making it available online for working professionals who may not be able to participate in a traditional, on-ground program. Tulane University was originally launched in 1834 in response to public health threats in New Orleans. Online students will benefit from our deep history, extensive faculty research experience, and the close connection we have with alumni all over the globe.
